Singapore, 29 September 2020 (Tuesday) – The Institute of Service Excellence (ISE) (卓越服务研究院)at Singapore Management University (SMU) today released the 2020 second quarter (Q2) Customer Satisfaction Index of Singapore (CSISG) research findings for the Air Transport and Land Transport sectors.

SINGAPORE, 18 September 2020 (Friday) – The Singapore Management University (SMU) undertook the third wave of the Public Cleanliness Satisfaction Survey (PCSS). 1,716 responses were collected from Singapore residents before the start of the Circuit Breaker. The 2019 wave of the survey was led by Professor Paulin Straughan, Professor of Sociology (Practice) And Dean of Students at SMU, and Dr Mathew Mathews, Head, Social Lab and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies, where they looked at the public’s perception of public cleanliness and hygiene in Singapore.

Singapore, 16 September 2020 ( Wednesday) -  Food insecurity is defined as a state when a household does not have, or is not confident of having, economic and physical access to sufficient, acceptable food for a healthy life. The Singapore Management University (SMU)’s Lien Centre for Social Innovation (LCSI) recently completed the  first nationally representative study on food insecurity in Singapore.

Singapore, 15 September 2020 (Tuesday) – BEYOND Lab and Singapore Management University’s Business Families Institute (“BFI@SMU”) will be running two complimentary blended courses on digital transformation to help Singapore SMEs strengthen their resilience in the current challenging times.  Aptly named “The Great Reset”, the programme caters to senior business leaders of Singapore SMEs, and aims to work with them to digitalise and transform their businesses.

SINGAPORE, 14 September 2020 (Monday) – Singapore Management University (SMU)’s Class of 2020 celebrated its graduation on 24 July 2020 with a Virtual Graduation and Career Fair (VGF) specially curated by the University and held virtually for the first time, in light of the Covid-19 situation. The Virtual Graduation and Career Fair was organised in addition to the physical Commencement ceremonies which will be held at a later date when circumstances allow.

Singapore, 9 September 2020 (Wednesday) – Singapore Management University’s (SMU) Business Families Institute, or BFI@SMU, today announced that it will embark on a two-year research on emerging investment strategies of business families.  The study aims to generate insights into family businesses’ wealth creation, preservation and management both in Singapore and internationally; as well as identify the needs of the external asset management (EAM) industry and uncover the skills gaps of investment managers and family advisers in serving family business firms.

SINGAPORE, 9 September 2020 (Wednesday) – Singapore Management University (SMU), through its Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics (SKBI) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB), has joined  the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment (GRASFI).  It is the first university in Southeast Asia to join the Alliance. 

SINGAPORE, 1 September 2020 – The Singapore Management University (SMU) Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) has announced an upcoming 4-part Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC) Changemakers Conversations which will bring together internationally-renowned and respected scholars and business leaders to discuss and debate issues of contemporary interest and significance, particularly to the start-ups.

Singapore, 28 August 2020 – The Ngee Ann Kongsi and Singapore Management University (SMU) announced today at a virtual media briefing that The Ngee Ann Kongsi has formalised its intention to contribute $15 million over seven years to SMU, in support of research on elderly wellbeing and successful ageing in Singapore. The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Speaker of Parliament and Chairperson of the People's Action Party (PAP) Seniors Group.
