SMU alumnus and SimplyGood founder Jeremy Lee received the Impact Leader Excellence Award for creating waterless, plastic-free cleaning tablets that have eliminated over a million single-use containers and prevented more than 500,000 tons of carbon emissions. While at SMU, he participated in startup competitions and founded UglyGood in 2015, a food-waste recycling venture that grew to seven figures before he sold it in 2019.
