SMU has collaborated with the National Heritage Board (NHB) to create Singapore’s first museum studies course. The course was offered in January and 40 students have already completed it to date. SMU Associate Professor of Theatre/Performance Studies (Practice) Margaret Chan said that apart from acquiring management and exhibition skills, students also learn how to plan museum activities and develop teaching aids, and be ready to take on such responsibilities at work in the arts scene after graduation.
