Singapore, 27 February 2023 (Monday) – The Karim Family Foundation, established by the family of Bachtiar Karim and Dewi Sukwanto, has made a generous endowed contribution of S$2,000,000 to set up the Karim Family Foundation Scholarship at the Singapore Management University (SMU). This gift is the single largest alumni gift to SMU and was initiated by SMU Alumni Cindy Karim (BBM, 2014) and Chayadi Karim (BBM, 2015) – children of Bachtiar Karim and Dewi Sukwanto, Principals of the Karim Family Foundation.

Singapore, 27 February 2023 (Monday) - SMU Academy, the professional training arm of Singapore Management University (SMU), and the School of Science and Technology, Singapore (SST) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to partner in a new SMU-SST Technopreneurship Programme, to be offered later this year to SST’s students.

SINGAPORE, 27 February 2023 (Monday) – Singapore Management University’s Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics and the Citi Foundation-SMU Financial Literacy Programme for Young Adults, in collaboration with MoneySense and the Association of Banks in Singapore, have launched a 6-week virtual financial literacy programme aimed at improving financial planning skills of youths and young adults aged between 17 and 35.  The programme, named MyMoney@Campus will last from 27 February to 10 April 2023.

Singapore, 13 February 2023 (Monday) – The Association of Independent Wealth Managers Singapore (AIWM) has partnered with eight of its member firms to establish a bursary initiative at Singapore Management University (SMU). This is the first time that such an initiative has been undertaken by AIWM. Collectively, between the eight member firms and AIWM, the gift amounts to $160,000 and will benefit eight students in total.
