SMU alumnus Lawrence Kim started a small business from his bedroom, designing business cards and printing flyers for heartland shops when he was 17. His venture was acquired in 2006 for a six-figure sum while he was still studying at SMU. He is now the Chief Executive of Ebenezer Group, after he took over the business in 2007 from his father, and grew the business from a marine inspection firm to a multi-industry group that serves sectors beyond marine and offshore, including construction and petrochemicals. He shared how his experience in his growing-up years shaped his outlook on money and how he built his wealth portfolio over the years.
