Dr Lillyn Teh has made two notable donations to SMU within a year. The goal of these contributions is to provide financial support to students, promoting resilience, creativity, and leadership skills necessary for future challenges. Following an initial donation of $3.14 million in April 2024, Dr Teh contributed an additional $2 million. This second contribution will enhance the existing Lillyn Teh Endeavour Study Award and start the Lillyn Teh Global Endeavour Grant, further assisting SMU students in gaining international exposure. SMU President Professor Lily Kong noted that these contributions provide important learning and international opportunities, particularly for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
