Originally aspiring to be a Chinese language teacher, SMU student Han Hongyi's life took a turn when a vacation job selling electricity contracts ignited his passion for helping others manage their finances. Despite initial reservations from societal misconceptions about financial careers, he found fulfillment in the role. Hongyi now balances his studies in business management at SMU with a part-time job as a financial consultant at an insurance company. He encourages others to break free from stereotypes and pursue their passions, emphasising that the satisfaction of helping people save money makes the challenges worthwhile in the financial industry.
