Commencing this academic year, seven Kwek Hong Png Valedictorian Awards of $10,000 each will be presented to the top graduating students from each cohort. The late Mr Kwek Hong Png is the founder of the Hong Leong Group. His grandchildren have come together to make an endowed gift to set up the Awards, which are the most prestigious and eminent awards that graduating SMU students can aspire to at the University and School level. SMU President Professor Lily Kong remarked that this gift is a strong testament to the confidence in the quality of SMU’s graduates and will create a positive and lasting impact on SMU.
