SMU alumna and para-swimmer Yip Pin Xiu won the 50m and 100m backstroke S2 to end a nine-year drought at the World Para Swimming Championships in London, and is aiming to go faster and retain her two titles at the Tokyo Games in 2020. For her achievements in London, Ms Yip was named The Straits Times Star of the Month for September.
