In a commentary, SMU Associate Professor of Accounting (Practice) Wang Jiwei, who is also the Programme Director for the Master of Professional Accounting and Master of Science in Accounting, discussed Singapore's efforts in establishing a more transparent and sustainable reporting for its capital market. He opined that mandatory sustainability reporting will provide an excellent opportunity for companies to review their long-term sustainable strategies regularly, which will help to propel companies' brand value and competitive advantages.
