Six SMU students developed an IOT system with sensors that would alert nurses to the movement of the elderly

Six students from the SMU School of Information Systems have developed an efficient and reliable real-time alert system that notifies the nurse on duty whenever the sensors detect a resident in need via Telegram. The team also provided an online platform for submission of shift forms and monthly updates with structured data fields. Their project won the Best Final Year Project prize. Another team of four students won the Best Technical Innovation prize for their final year project with their development of a program to reduce the time and effort needed for data-driven chatbot training.
