SMU Board of Trustees member Ms Chua Sock Koong, who is also the Group Chief Executive Officer of Singtel, became the first woman to be appointed to the Council of Presidential Advisers. She was nominated and appointed as an alternate member of the council by President Halimah Yacob. Her appointment takes effect from 3 January and runs until 1 January 2023.
