In a commentary, SMU alumnus Josh Lee Kok Tong, co-founder and editor of LawTech Asia, examined the impact and transformative powers of artificial intelligence (AI) over small states. He opined that AI will change the nature of job markets as well as military operations of small nations. He added that the cyber-security landscape of such nations will also be impacted. Mr Lee commented that the actual impact of AI will ultimately depend on a range of factors, such as technology adoption, the state of the economy and developmental stage of each small nation.
