SMU and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) started offering a double degree in 2014. The first intake of 30 students graduated this year with SMU’s degree in Business Management and SUTD’s degree in engineering. This course also provides scholarships for citizens and Permanent Residents. Students are given the opportunity to launch a start-up company, using data analysis and AI technology that facilitates their note taking. SMU President Professor Arnoud De Meyer shared that both institutions are rigorous in their teaching and arm their students with a strong competitive edge which helps them with business and technology management, so that they can take on a leadership role in these areas
