SMU returned for a second straight year at this year's Cycle of Hope [with a team of 15 cyclists led by President Professor Arnoud De Meyer]. Thirteen organisations had signed up for The Business Times Cycle of Hope Corporate Bike Ride – a corporate charity ride that is part of OCBC Cycle which took place on October 1-2 – and raised S$23,195 for four charities in the process. There were two non-competitive rides - the 23km The Straits Times Ride, and the 42km The Sportive Ride. Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Grace Fu joined the cyclists on the second day of the event.
