SMU alumnus Calixto Tay Wei Kiat is one of the co-founders of Singapore digital marketing and mobile app development house Originally Us. After graduating summa cum laude (with highest distinction) from SMU with a degree in information systems management in 2013, Tay worked briefly as an IT manager in a food company before starting Originally Us. One of the firm’s most successful products is the SG BusLeh app, which emerged as the highest-rated bus app from Singapore on the Android store after the mass adoption of smartphones in the late 2000s. Tay said that his team is quite proud of the app for its practical relevance to the Singaporean market.
