The Vibrant Tapestry of Social Networks

In a feature, SMU Assistant Professor of Sociology Michael Genkin talked about his ongoing study on social networks that exist between people. His study focuses on organisations with voluntary membership, ranging from book clubs to street gangs, and uses a framework that allows for better understanding of the type of people belonging to the organisations. Assistant Prof Genkin also uses models that are relevant to social problems and international security threats, and he will be continuing his work in the Singapore context.
