Seumas Yeo, a recent SMU economics graduate, is among a team of five Singaporeans who aim to conquer Mount Everest in celebration of Singapore’s 50th birthday. The team was self-funded before Aluminaid, a medical device company, came on board last April. Seumas said: “Finding sponsors to support our cause was like scaling a mountain of its own.” The team will set off for Everest Base Camp tomorrow, and plan to scale the summit between May 28 and 29.
