The Singapore Institute of Legal Education Overseas Scheduled Universities (OSU) Review Committee – comprising representatives nominated by the Attorney-General, the President of the Law Society of Singapore, and the Deans of the SMU School of Law and the NUS Faculty of Law – has recommended narrowing the list of universities in the UK recognised for admission to the Singapore Bar. This was announced by the Ministry of Law in a news release on February 24, which said that the list will be trimmed from 19 to 11 UK law schools after its first review of the list of OSUs eligible for the law practice in Singapore.
