In a forum letter, Edwin Teong Ying Keat cited SMU's introduction of urban farming as one of the initiatives by institutions to mitigate Singapore's carbon emission levels. He highlighted that such creative instances of growing more greenery symbolise an inherent intent within Singapore's society to work towards the gradual reduction of carbon emissions while beautifying Singapore.
