SMU business school appoints new dean

SMU has appointed a new dean, Professor Gerard George, for its business school. Presently the Deputy-Dean at Imperial College of Business School, Prof George will begin his five-year term at SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business from January 1 next year. Speaking at the press conference on Tuesday, Prof George said that he wanted to increase the “global visibility” of the school, strengthening their links with the industry, government and the region.” The school’s outgoing Dean, Prof Howard Thomas, will stay on with SMU as a Distinguished Professor of Strategic Management and Management Education.
