In a commentary, Senior Associate Director (Office of Postgraduate Professional Programmes) S.N. Venkat talked about the new Indian government’s decision to set up more Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and campuses of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).  He quoted IIT alumnus Dhruv Jain, who is pursuing his MBA at SMU, saying that “IITs and IIMs are global brands whose reputation has been built by the senior alumni” and that “the new government must first improve the education and research standards in the new IITs and IIMs”.
