Congratulations to TAY Wei Kiat (SMU SIS Alumnus, Intake 2009, Summa Cum Laude) for winning the IT Youth Award 2014.

Wei Kiat is the co-founder of social classified start-up, Oompr! Pte Ltd. Created The Wicked, a collaborative online puzzle that was hailed by The Straits Times as having commanded a “cult-like” following. He was also the brains behind the used textbook marketplace, BookINBookOUT. Drawing on the lessons from BookINBookOUT, he co-founded yet another social marketplace in 2012, called Oompr! He believes in information technology as an instrument of change, and continues to leverage on his skills and expertise to be “always creating”.
