Good poets need good teachers

In the Binary Pavilion tent at the SMU Campus Green, Scottish poet Carol Ann Duffy told a crowd of about 300 that she “fell in love with poetry as a child”. The poet laureate of the United Kingdom spoke about how her education had helped her hone her verse, in a one-hour reading last Saturday at the Singapore Writers Festival.
