During the 7th Singapore Children's Society Lecture held at SMU last Saturday, Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob said that balancing work and family life is the single most daunting challenge that many in Singapore face today. She said that work-life balance is particularly important in view of the growing number of dual-income homes and she called for a more comprehensive set of public policy and community measures to support families.
