Over 90% of fresh grads from 2012 cohort employed

Over 90 per cent of fresh university graduates were employed in 2012, according to the first joint Graduate Employment Survey conducted by Singapore's three autonomous universities. SMU, NUS and NTU said in a joint statement on Friday that their graduates continue to be well sought after in the job market. They said the findings were strong affirmation of the value of the local university degree placed by employers in Singapore. A total of 9,668 full-time fresh graduates took part in the survey. As at 1 November 2012, the overall employment rate among economically active graduates was 91 per cent. Of these graduates, 85.6 per cent held full-time permanent jobs. The median gross monthly salary for those in full-time permanent employment was S$3,050. The mean gross monthly salary for this group was S$3,260.
