Temasek Holdings unveiled a slew of internal senior management changes on Friday, effective immediately, aimed at deepening its capacity and gearing up for the future. Among the key moves in the reshuffle: Mr Chia Song Hwee has been named head of Temasek's investment group in a change of title, taking over the role previously carried out by Chief Investment Officer Tan Chong Lee. A Temasek spokesman said that the changes are "part and parcel of (its) continuing efforts to reshape the institution and rotate its staff through various responsibilities to further expand and deepen its capacity and capabilities, and build Temasek for the future". Observers said the internal reshuffle will offer these senior management executives greater exposure, giving them a fuller understanding of Temasek's business. SMU Vice President (Business Development & External Relations) and Associate Professor of Finance Annie Koh said: "Market cycles are getting shorter. So you need a strong team leadership, (and) not rely on a single individual."
