Analysts: Highlighting livelihood issues worked for Workers’ Party

On the Workers’ Party’s (WP) victory in the by-election, SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan said that the strongest argument the party used was repeatedly reminding voters, through the AIM saga, that the opposition would keep an eye on the ruling party and enhance governance. During the last WP rally, the message sent by Low Thia Khiang on how the People’s Action Party today is not what it used to be, also resonated with the voters.
