SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan commented that it is rare for the People’s Action Party to field a political newcomer such as Koh Poh Koon to contest for an SMC. The way Koh spoke during the interview showed that he is confident, has his own opinion and is not afraid to speak up. Assistant Prof Tan also noted that Koh revealed his background and financials honestly. His visit to Rivervale Plaza showed his concern for voter and national issues. For a newcomer, he has a certain political maturity.
