Dr Koh Poh Koon to run for Punggol East by-election?

Dr Koh Poh Koon was seen assisting Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Teo Ser Luck at the Punggol East Meet-the-People Session last night and there is speculation that he might be a candidate at the looming by-election. On the Punggol East by-election, SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan said that the possibility of a flash  election was low, as the White Paper on Population is due to be released soon and Parliament will subsequently discuss the paper. He commented that holding the by-election in January or February would be a move that will “distract the people”.
