Political observers: PAP expected to send in new faces in the event of a Punggol East by-election

Commenting on the possible PAP candidates in the event of a Punggol East by-election, [SMU Assistant Professor of Law and] NMP Eugene Tan said that it was unlikely that PAP would send in someone familiar as this would give the impression that the party was either unable to attract new talent or lacked confidence. He added that the PAP was likely to send in a 2011 General Election reserve candidate or a grassroots leader, excluding Desmond Choo.
