College life begins for over 1,700 SMU freshmen

The convocation ceremony also marked a new beginning for outgoing President Howard Hunter, who returns to teaching after six years at the helm. On Wednesday, he welcomed his successor, Professor Arnoud De Meyer, who takes over from September.
