SMU President Professor Lily Kong was named Impact Leader of the Year at the annual Sustainability Impact Awards, organised by The Business Times and UOB. Under Prof Kong’s leadership, a strategic roadmap for “sustainable living” at SMU was developed, focusing on change agents, impactful research, resilient communities, and a greener university. SMU also issued a $150 million sustainability bond to fund green initiatives and support inclusive education for low-income students.
