Recognising SMU’s 2022 National Day Award Recipients

SMU’s leaders, senior management, faculty and staff aspire to make meaningful impact on the University, local and global communities. SMU is proud that their achievements have been recognised at the National Day Awards 2022.

Members of the SMU Board of Trustees, Ms Melissa Khoo and Mr Lim Ming Yan, received the The Public Administration Medal (Silver) and The Public Service Medal respectively. Mr Timothy Chia, Chairman of the SMU Committee for Institutional Advancement and Member of SMU was awarded The Public Service Medal.

In addition, 13 SMU faculty and staff have also been recognised for their outstanding performance and their commitment towards Singapore’s tertiary education sector.

•            The Public Administration Medal (Silver):

o            Chan Wai Leng, Director, Office of Advancement

 

•            The Public Administration Medal (Bronze):

o           Wang Ji Wei, Assoc Prof of Accounting (Practice) & Programme Director, Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) & Master of Science in Accounting (MSA), School of Accountancy

 

•            Commendation Medal:

o            Tan Siang Peng, Deputy Director, Office of Advancement

o            Cheah Hsiang-Hung, Senior Manager, Office of Postgraduate Professional Programmes

o            Yeo Hiok Woon Kelly, Senior Manager, Student Success Centre

o            Ong Chwee Ngoh Aries, Senior Manager, Registrar's Office

o            Lim Yeun Yeun, Senior Associate Director, Office of Finance

o            Yeo Lip Pin, Associate Director, Postgraduate Professional Education, School of Computing  and Information Systems

 

•            Efficiency Medal:

o            Zhang Huarong, Manager, Business Families Institute

o            Goh Yu Ling Elaine, Senior Manager, Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics

o            Ng Peng Khoon, Senior Manager, Office of Campus Infrastructure and Services

o            Phua Hoon Kuan Jane, Senior Assistant Manager, Office of Human Resources and Faculty Administration

They were among 6,258 individuals in 21 award categories who were honoured this year for their contributions to the country. Congratulations to all the award recipients!
