SMU and the Wealth Management Institute said in a joint statement that the accreditation of the latter’s Master of Science in Wealth Management programme against the standards set by the Institute of Banking and Finance will ensure that entrants into the private banking industry are "fully trained and job-ready". SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business Dean and Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Gerry George said that the programme enhancements “are a major leap in significantly enhancing graduates' job prospects and pushing the frontiers of global investing, to produce more talented professionals to manage the abundant wealth in Asia". The programme has been ranked first in Asia and third in the world, according to the Financial Times Masters in Finance post-experience ranking 2015.
