The latest joint employment survey of SMU, NUS and NTU graduates found that the employment rate of SMU graduates was the highest among the three universities at 91.6 per cent. SMU was also reported as Singapore's first public university to require all its students to undergo internship programmes, with more than 20 per cent of its graduates awarded employment opportunities through those programmes. SMU President Professor Arnoud De Meyer said that most SMU students have had more than two internship opportunities, where they get to intern at various organisations and develop innovative ideas locally or overseas. SMU graduates Charles Teo and He Si Min, who were featured, felt that their internship experiences were an asset during their career search.
