Independent auditors unable to provide opinion on financial statement of WP town council due to lack of information in 13 areas

SMU Associate Professor of Law and NMP Eugene Tan commented on the declaration by independent auditors that they were unable to verify the accounts of the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council for the second year running. Associate Prof Tan said that the town council must explain the discrepancies, as the unaccounted amount is huge. He added that this incident has led people to question the capability of the Workers' Party in running a town council.
