The Singapore worker: 20s go-getters, 30s & 40 in lower gear

The findings of a survey conducted by The Straits Times and Degree Census Consultancy involving 501 Singapore residents found that the young seek better paying jobs with career advancements, while the older workers are more comfortable holding on to their jobs. The young are also more inclined towards technology and have more overseas exposure from overseas school trips and study exchanges. SMU graduate Muhammad Mohsin, 30, said that he was inspired by students he met during a six-month exchange at Carnegie Mellon University, and that his two start-ups to develop iPhone and iPad applications had earned him a job offer from Google. Muhammad said: "Previously, I thought I will like to make a game that's really successful - not in the financial sense but a lot of people playing and enjoying it. Now it's shifted to (creating) a product that affects the lives of a lot of people... like Gmail."
