SMU Senior Lecturer of Strategic Management Pamela Lim shared her views on teaching mathematics to children on her Facebook page. She remarked that it was strange that many Singaporean parents only allow their children to use "exam-approved" methods such as the Model Method to solve mathematics questions. Ms Lim stressed the importance of letting children learn at their own pace and stimulating their thinking during the process of learning, and suggested that parents should be teaching a method they are comfortable using.
