Speaker of Parliament Palmer resigns over extramarital affair

On Michael Palmer’s resignation over his affair, SMU Assistant Professor of Law and NMP Eugene Tan said the PAP has taken “a body blow”. “But it is not going to be fatal, partly because they have acted swiftly and resolutely. That will help to cushion the negative repercussions,” he added. He also noted that the PAP's response was swifter than the WP’s reaction to the Yaw Shin Leong affair.
