After graduating from Nanyang Polytechnic, Ms Tan Xue Shan was awarded a scholarship from SMU to study for a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems. She then secured the National Infocomm Scholarship (NIS) under the SMU Carnegie Mellon University'tra (CMU) Fast Track programme to complete an MSc in Information Technology (eBusiness) at CMU. She is now a digital strategist with NCS, an infocommunications technology service provider.
