Tan Chuan Jin: Workplace discrimination is often the result of isolated incidents being magnified

Acting Minister for Manpower and Senior Minister of State for Community Development, Youth & Sports Tan Chuan Jin said that the Government could set up committees or introduce legislation to help ensure fair employment practices, but it was not possible for the Government to impose specific values on the people. Individuals would have to be responsible for their own words and actions. Mr Tan made the above remark at an informal dialogue last night organised by SMU Apolitical and the Government's feedback unit, Reach, to gather views from more than 100 young Singaporeans on PM Lee's National Day Rally speech. The event was the first part of Reach's Kopi Talk series.
