SMU Chairman and Banyan Tree Holdings Executive Chairman Mr Ho Kwon Ping said that business and management education in Asian business schools has always been predicated on Western principles, but the financial crisis several years ago and the current eurozone crisis have exposed flaws and weaknesses of the Western political system and economic model. Hence it is imperative for Asian business leaders and educators to create a new paradigm that is rooted in, and which reflects, the distinctive historical, social and cultural features of Asia. Mr Ho made the above observation at an academic conference jointly organised by SMU and the AAPBS (Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools) yesterday.
