The Association of Banks in Singapore announced that its member banks will step up measures to enhance the security of ATM cards and other payment cards. SMU Associate Professor of Information Systems, Enoch Ch’ng, commented that EMV chips are not fool-proof. He said that while the EMV chip is more difficult to replicate, the most secured system is one that uses bio-identification technology.
