Lee Seng Gee, 88, chairman of Lee Foundation, is among Forbes' 48 heroes of philanthropy. Mr Lee oversees the foundation started in 1952 by his father, the late rubber magnate Lee Kong Chian. In recent years it donated US$35 million to SMU and US$20 million to NUS.
