Singapore, 13 Jan 2012 (Friday) – The Singapore Management University (SMU) marks its 12th Anniversary Celebrations on its Patron's Day today.

It is also the first homecoming for Singapore 's newly-elected President, President Tony Tan Keng Yam in his new role as SMU Patron. President Tony Tan had spent three decades shaping the higher education landscape in Singapore during his tenure as a Cabinet minister.

Singapore, 11 January 2012 (Wednesday) – Mr Timothy Chia Chee Ming, a member of the Singapore Management University's (SMU) Board of Trustees and Chairman, Hup Soon Global Corporation Limited, pledged a endowed scholarship gift worth S$500,000 to SMU today.

Singapore, 9 January 2012 (Monday) – Eleven Singapore Management University (SMU) students, comprising nine Sing Lun Scholars and two Wong Kwok Leong Endowed Scholars, introduced a book they produced on nourishing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) soup ( 养身之汤 ) recipes at the Sing Lun Scholarship Appreciation Tea and Nourishing TCM Soup Recipe Book Launch, held at SMU today.

The Singapore (SMU) Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) has become one of the youngest institutions in the world to be conferred the prestigious EQUIS accreditation, bringing it to the ranks of leading business schools around the world, such as the London Business School in the United Kingdom, IE Business School in Spain, IMD in Switzerland INSEAD in France.

Awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), the accreditation covers all programmes offered by the from the undergraduate degree up to the Ph.D. level.

Singapore, 29 Nov 2011 (Tuesday) – The Singapore Management University (SMU) has appointed Professor Bryce Hool from the University of Auckland as Dean of the School of Economics from 1 January 2012 for a five-year term. Currently a Professor of Economics at the New Zealand university, Professor Hool has served in senior management and leadership positions at universities in the US and New Zealand for 21 years.
