[Singapore, 23 August 2013 (Friday)] – The 7th Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition, organised by Singapore Management University’s (SMU) Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE), drew to a close today with an Awards Presentation Ceremony held at the St. Regis Hotel and graced by Guest-of-Honour Mr Ron Sim, Founder, Chairman and CEO of OSIM International Ltd. As a lead up to the 50th anniversary of the Rotary Club of Singapore East (RCSE) in 2015 and with the aim of giving undergraduates from SMU financial support in their pursuit of education, RCSE donated S$12,000 to SMU in May 2012 to fund the inaugural Rotary Club of Singapore East Education Bursary. Six students from SMU were awarded the Bursaries during the Award Ceremony held on 1 June 2012 at the Goodwood Park Hotel.

It is the Bank's first gift to SMU, marking the start of a new strategic relationship between Singapore 's first private university and the Zurich-based Bank. In recognition of Credit Suisse's generosity, SMU has named in perpetuity an Executive Seminar Room in its Executive Education Conference Centre, located in the SMU Administration Building, the “Credit Suisse Executive Seminar Room”.
