Singapore, 25 January 2017 – The Singapore Management University (SMU), United Nations Environment (UNEP) and the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) co-sponsored a public event themed ‘Singapore, Green Finance and the Collaborative Challenge’ on 10 January at SMU. The event offered insights on the nexus between sustainable finance and collaborative action, with the broader objective of delivering the Sustainable Development Goals.

Singapore, 20 January 2017 (Friday) – The Singapore Management University (SMU) was incorporated on 12 January 2000 and marks its 17th anniversary celebrations on its annual Patron’s Day today. This is the sixth year that President Tony Tan Keng Yam has graced the event as SMU’s Patron.

President Tony Tan participated in the evening celebrations along with invited guests, SMU students, staff, faculty and alumni, as well as members of the public as this is the first year that the event is open to all.

Singapore, 12 January 2017 (Thursday) – The School of Information Systems at the Singapore Management University has been awarded two cybersecurity research projects under a collaboration programme by Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF) and Israel’s Tel Aviv University’s Blavatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center (TAU-ICRC). The projects were awarded based on the relevance and significance of their research areas to create impact in Singapore.

Singapore, 3 January 2017 (Tuesday) – The Singapore Management University’s (SMU) Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) has been awarded worldwide recognition again.  It earned a five-year re-accreditation by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) through its European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).  The prestigious EQUIS accreditation, which involves a rigorous self-assessment and a peer review visit from international academics and business professionals, covers all programmes offered by the School from undergraduate degree up to the Ph.D. level.

Singapore, 8 December, 2016 (Thursday) - The Singapore Management University is pleased to announce that Mr Lim Chee Onn has been appointed Pro-Chancellor of the University with effect from 18 November 2016. His appointment will be for a term of three years.

Singapore, 29 November 2016 (Tuesday) – The Institute of Service Excellence (ISES) at the Singapore Management University (SMU) today released the 2016 third quarter (Q3) Customer Satisfaction Index of Singapore (CSISG) results for the Tourism and Food & Beverage sectors. Statistically significant upticks in customer satisfaction were seen in the Tourism (71.1 points/+1.7 points or +2.4%) and Food & Beverage (70.1 points/+2.98 points or +4.4%) sectors from 2015.
