Singapore, 28 February 2020 (Friday) – Graduates from Singapore Management University’s (SMU) 16th cohort have registered healthy and stable overall employment [1], with 92.3% of them employed and commanding good starting salaries across all six of the university’s degree programmes.

The results were revealed in the annual Joint Autonomous Universities Graduate Employment Survey (JAUGES), jointly conducted by SMU and the other Autonomous Universities.

77% or 1,419 of the 1,842 SMU alumni who graduated in 2019 took part in the survey.

SINGAPORE, 27 February 2020 (Thursday) - The Singapore Management University (SMU) hosted the inaugural ASEAN University Network-Technology-Enhanced Personalised Learning (AUN-TEPL) Symposium on 27 February 2020. Originally scheduled to be held at SMU comprising many overseas educators from the AUN+3 network, the symposium was moved to an online platform so more could access and participate in it. A total of over 100 educators from 51 universities signed up for the half-day symposium.

Singapore, 11 February 2020 (Tuesday) - The Singapore Management University is pleased to announce that we have appointed three new members to its Board of Trustees with effect from 12 January 2020. Their appointment will be for an initial term of four years. 

The three are: 
(i)    Professor Maxwell Leslie King; 
(ii)    Mr Lim Ming Yan; and
(iii)    Mr Arif Rachmat.

 

Singapore, 7 February 2020 (Friday) – The Singapore Management University’s (SMU) School of Information Systems (SIS) has launched a new Professional Doctoral Degree, Doctor of Engineering (EngD), to train professionals to perform deep technical industrial research and translate the outputs into innovative products and services. It also aims to prepare students to become IT leaders with deep technical expertise for innovating, designing and managing complex IT systems.

SINGAPORE, 4 February 2020 (Tuesday) – Mr Robert Yap Min Choy, Chairman of the Board of Advisors at Singapore Management University’s (SMU) School of Information Systems (SIS) and Chairman and Independent Director of Sunseap Group, has been named Dean’s Fellow of Information Systems at SIS, the first time such an honour has been bestowed in recognition of his significant contributions.

Mr Yap will hold the position for a two-year period from 1 January 2020.
