SINGAPORE, 18 August 2021 (Wednesday) – The Singapore Management University (SMU) undertook the fourth wave of the Public Cleanliness Satisfaction Survey (PCSS) amidst the COVID-19 pandemic from February to May 2021, with 2,007 responses collected from Singapore residents. The survey looked at the public’s perception of cleanliness and hygiene in Singapore, and was led by Professor Paulin Straughan, Professor of Sociology (Practice) and Dean of Students at SMU, and Dr Mathew Mathews, Head, Social Lab and Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies.

Singapore, 6 July 2021 (Tuesday) – Singapore may rank high in its pace of Covid-19 vaccination, but segments of the nation’s older adults (aged 71-75) were still reluctant to vaccinate because they were sceptical of either the efficacy or the safety of COVID-19 vaccines. A study conducted by SMU’s Centre for Research on Successful Ageing (ROSA) from February to June 2021 also revealed that respondents who did not intend to vaccinate were less socially integrated.
